Donald Trump, Barack Obama, & Steve Jobs Agree On One Thing…

Donald Trump, Barack Obama, and Steve Jobs all agree that the best career advice is to love what you do.  There are plenty of articles published online that state the opposite: money trumps passion.  However, according to Trump, Obama, and Jobs – all successful in their own right – loving what you do brings happiness, satisfaction, and success which will ultimately lead to the reward of money.

Donald Trump

“If I were going to give career advice to somebody, it would be that you have to love it – you have to really want it and you have to love what you’re doing.  There are so many people that are forced through family pressure or something…into doing something that they don’t believe in and that they don’t like.  You’ve got to go after the kind of job that you like.”

Barack Obama

“Worry more about what you want to do rather than what you want to be…If you look at the most successful business people, they are people who just love the thing they’re doing.”

Steve Jobs

“People say you have to have a lot of passion for what you’re doing and its totally true…and the reason is…it’s so hard that if you don’t, any rational person would give up…So if you don’t love it, if you’re not having fun doing it, you’re going to give up. That’s what happens to most people if you really look at the ones that end up being ‘successful’ in the eyes of society and the ones that didn’t…Often times it’s the ones that are successful loved what they did so they could persevere when it got really tough and the ones that didn’t love it quit…because they’re sane.  Who would want to put up with this stuff if you didn’t love it?”
